London is a special place, with special people and dreamlike moments.
A few weeks ago I met with my university friend Karina for touristic Sunday with the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, breakfast at Hyde Park, stroll in Kensington, and visit to the National History Museum. Towards the evening I remembered that I saw an article shared on Facebook about switching of Bohemian Rhapsody inspired lighting on Carnaby Street, and that members of Queen are rumored to be there as well.
Hungry and tired after a long day of walking, we went towards Carnaby Street, just before the time mentioned in the article. We noticed a small, but growing queue near a Queen pop-up store at the beginning of the street, and decided to wait & see. Nothing happened at seven o’clock, and people (& dogs!) were leaving the place. Fireworks and music at the other end of the street started only at eight, marking the switching of the lights (which are truly amazing, see the last video!). All this time random people with VIP Queen and 20th Century Fox badges were going in and out of the store. I literally took pictures of everyone, just in case they are secret celebrities 😀 after fireworks it looked like they are throwing an afterparty inside the shop. If to be honest, most of the attendees looked far away from being a VIP or even far from being invited to a party with rock-music legends. More like “I woke up like this” 😀 After almost three hours of waiting we were granted with an almost dreamlike experience – we met Brian May and Roger Taylor from QUEEN! Brian even gave me a handshake, I didn’t want to take my hand away and was holding him so tight! We waited till they left the party, I even got very close to Brian’s car and told him something random like “come back again” ahahaha. One guy was lucky enough to get his guitar signed! If to sum up, I can say that Queen guys were very lovely and kind towards fans, which sometimes is a big rarity in show business. Oh, how I would like to meet Freddie, but this will never happen 😦 looking forward to seeing brand new Bohemian Rhapsody movie! And meeting more celebrities ❤
Escape busy streets of metropolis and get lost in natural wonders of Hampstead Heath – one of the largest and most ancient parks is London. A perfect place for lazy Sunday and a picnic with friends while enjoying a breathtaking view of the city🌿if you like active lifestyle, you can run up and down the hill, play tennis, swim, and enjoy workout outdoors. For me as a fangirl, this place is remarkable also because of the fact that a lot of celebrities are living near by, including Highgate resident and my most favorite actor James McAvoy😏
Placebo is an important part of myself for already twelve years, which also makes a half of my life. With no doubt their music has constructed me as a person, and I can find any existing spectrum of emotions in it, maybe even more. It’s cosmic.
Brian and Stefan are not simply musicians – after so many years, four concerts, and meeting in person, to me they are like siblings-in-law in the marriage to music. There are no words ever to describe how blessed I feel. Yesterday I was united with music, love, and universe, going completely mad with every single song. And oh God, they started the gig with Pure Morning……
P.S. …I also touched the setlist…

Located few minutes away from London’s picturesque Little Venice, BBC Maida Vale Studios is a complex of seven BBC recording studios, and home to BBC Symphony Orchestra. Since 1946 studios have been used for recording of thousands classical and popular music sessions. Hundreds of famous artists have visited the studios to perform on BBC broadcast channels, including my favorites Arctic Monkeys, Florence Welch, David Bowie, The White Stripes, and The Beatles.
… wish I could live in front of it 😀 #wherearecelebrities?

THE ROYAL WEDDING!
While the world is watching you cannot miss an opportunity to celebrate it in style. Your perfect wedding outlook should be meticulously planned. For me it’s not about being dressy and classy, but also about finding a middle between individual and trendy. Thus, I am going for a snow white Любовь (Love) shirt with cloud grey tulle skirt and classic Chanel crossbody bag as an addition. #teammegan all prepared!
Of course, your look isn’t finished without makeup. Play with nude shadows, eyeliner, and soft strawberry daiquiri color or go for smoky eyes, red lipstick, and blush – don’t be afraid to apply a little bit more than usual, as the day ahead would be very long! And, of course, don’t forget about your favorite perfume 😉
Now be ready for a long day of fun and celebration of love! Shine bright like a diamond on Meghan’s ring. However, even if you are the best wedding guest one can ever wish about, don’t forget about the most important people at the ceremony – the bride and the groom. Treat them with care and respect – you should remember that it’s probably the best day of their life, while on the same time being extremely stressful.
Additional requirements: commemorative mug for the afternoon tea (Earl Grey with milk), biscuits, scones or Victoria sponge, a glass of prosecco, Union Jack flag, TV and/or Internet broadband.
Sending out love and all best wishes to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on the wedding day!
P.S. I am all prepared to catch the wedding bouquet from Hackney…

Take a deep breath – spring is finally in London…
This spring is a special one. Even through it started with anomaly snowy and cold weather, warmth and happiness was inside my heart. I am spending this spring in my most favorite city, for the first time ❤ being recently for a visit in Riga, I more and more understood that I am in the right place in my life.
Spring has always been a perfect time for big changes.
Thus, now I am working in the West End for one of my most favorite footwear brands – UGG!!
I am speechless! While I still cannot believe it, here are some pictures of the view from my new workplace.
Last October my #fangirl dream came true, as I finally got to visit 221B Baker Street – the home of Sherlock Holmes. Those who know me pretty well can tell that I myself am Sherlock Holmes in a skirt – my deduction is splendid, I can guess almost anything by just one clue, and I can literally find any information about anyone. Not mentioning my big love to Arthur Conan Doyle’s literal canon and Sherlock BBC series (with stunning London scenery, of course)!
Indeed, the world’s most famous address was on my Top to-visit list as I moved to London. So I took the initiative and organised a Sherlock Holmes museum visit for New London Girls just like me.
For a #fangirl like me there is always a place to visit in London. Such a culturally and historically significant city has not only classical tourist attractions, but also destinations to different music, arts, and cinema lovers.
As a person, who can speak for hours about things that she LOVES, likes all the stuff around and about her interests, and have different plans for every weekend, I’ve come up with an idea of a series of posts about #fangirl places in London – a street from a popular movie, a setting from a classic English book, a tube station from an Instagram picture of a famous musician… Believe me, I have a long-long to-visit list!
Thus, I am dedicating the first post to Ziggy Stardust plaque in Mayfair. Located in a quiet place just near Regent’s Street and Piccadilly Circus, 15 Heddon Street is the place that appeared on David Bowie’s first conceptual album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (1972). It is also denoted as the place “where David Bowie’s alter ego, Ziggy Stardust, first arrived on Earth”.
46 years later, the place looks quite different – the walls are painted, there are a lot of fancy cafes around, and K.West sign (nothing to do with Kaney West though) is changed with a commemorative plaque for Ziggy Stardust.
15 Heddon St, Mayfair, London W1B
Nearest tube station: Oxford Circus or Piccadilly Circus
1* Commuting in the city might be very tired and exhausting
2* There are so many non-touristic attractions for a fan girl like me, for instance,
a tube station at which Brian Molko met Stefan Olsdal
3* If you like anything in a shop, you need to grab it immediately – there is almost no chance you will find this product again even if you’ll come back on the same day
4* You can easily practice your French in posh areas of London
5* … and feel yourself lost somewhere between Italy, Greece, and Egypt in a variety of amazing museums with enormous collections of historical and art objects from all over the world. Travel around the world without leaving the bounds of one city!
